Weapons, weapons, weapons.

One of the things that really stood out to me during this game, was how little this team lent on any one player on offense. This is not Penn State, we are not Saquon Barkley and then some guys. Yes, we have Nick Chubb and Sony Michel, but we also have D’Andre Swift and some really impressive receivers.

Chubb remains the starter at RB and he should, he absolutely looks back to his best. His two touchdown runs showed a player who is always capable of finding the end zone when he has space. However, there’s a legitimate chance that no running back will hit 1000 yards this season. That’s because we might be looking at a legit 3 headed monster in Chubb, Michel and Swift. All of them played big snaps and made an impact on the game. While that might not lead to ‘great stats’, it absolutely leads to a more dangerous offense.

On the receiving side, it’s probably safe to say that Terry Godwin has stepped it up this year. He looked really good in camp and he’s been the leader of that group. Javon Wims continues to make an impact and Mecole Hardman looks like a big play waiting to happen. That receiver group is just so much better than it was last season even without Isaiah McKenzie.

Add in a tight end group that is still not being fully used and you have an offense with some scary weapons. Any QB would want to play with this group if you ask me. If Chaney can continue to develop good game plans, this offense should be good. They just have too many playmakers not to be.
