Georgia football dominated Mississippi State for an entire game to beat the other Bulldogs 31-3.

When I woke up Saturday morning, got dressed in my black and silver Georgia Bulldog outfit and worked my way towards Athens, Georgia, all I could ask out of my Dawgs was a win. A blowout was the last thing on my mind. I didn’t even think Georgia could win by any more than two scores.

So you can say I was pleasantly surprised Saturday, and I bet you were to when Georgia smacked Mississippi State around for a 31-3 victory. The score wasn’t the only surprise, Georgia played a near perfect game.

After four games, a few things are abundantly clear. Jake Fromm is prepared to lead a college team as a true freshman. And this rebuild to begin the Kirby Smart era is well ahead of schedule.

But back to Saturday. Here are the Bulldogs who had the best performance Saturday to lead no. 11 Georgia to the rout of no. 17 Mississippi State.

Terry Godwin

Godwin is having the best season of his career thus far and that continued immediately Saturday. Georgia started with a great play call with a flea flicker and Fromm found Godwin wide open for 59-yard touchdown.

Godwin had one more reception for 21 yards later in the first quarter that led to the Bulldogs second touchdown of the game. Godwin did drop a pass later in the game, but the result was no longer in doubt at that point.

Godwin is clearly Fromm’s favorite target. He’s always getting open and he’s mostly reliable to make catches. He even had another big catch for Fromm later in the game that ended up being whipped off because of an offsides penalty on Mississippi State.
