Bringing Nolan Smith back to the ‘Wolfpack’.

Nolan Smith has been a guy who has generated a lot of headlines on other teams boards the past few months. That’s particularly true for Clemson. Smith committed to Georgia at the beginning of the year and has talked about wanted to build a big class for his home state school. However, he is now attending IMG in Florida and has become very close to Xavier Thomas, who is #allin on Clemson.

Thomas has been pushing Smith had to decommit and join him in Death Valley. There have been times where Smith seems to have been listening. That being said, he has never decommited and he spent 3 days in Athens a few weeks ago and enjoyed some quality time with UGA. He only had a few hours sleep and drove up from Florida to Athens to be there for the game this weekend and was in a lot of players ears about coming to UGA.

Smith is one of those guys who wants to win. He’s the nations no.6 recruit for 2019 and he can go basically anywhere. There’s nothing wrong in his head being turned by a guy who he really respects but it’s great to see him back pushing for Georgia.

By no means is Smith’s recruitment over. Clemson and others will push until the day he signs, but UGA winning and growing as a program makes it a lot harder for those teams to recruit against them. He’s a highly talented player and one who should be loving just how well Georgia is developing its current OLBs.
