Florida makes it 31-straight versus Kentucky

Florida just can’t catch a break off the field, but they sure get a lot on the field. Nine players suspended, most of whom are about to be charged with grand theft. Sure, some will enter a pre-trial diversion program. But star wide receiver Antonio Callaway is done, he has too many convictions to qualify.

On the field however is a different story. Against Tennessee, we saw a defender tightly cover a receiver only to leave him for a shallow route. That led to the game-winning touchdown. Then against Kentucky, the Wildcats left a Florida receiver unmanned before the snap twice leading to a pair of touchdowns.

On the last instance, Kentucky only had 10 players on the field. What a disaster. Twice now, Florida has nearly lost and only won because their opponent screwed up, not because the Gators played a great game. They are lucky to not be 0-3.

This week, they have Vanderbilt. A team still reeling from their loss to Alabama. Will the Commodores be motivated enough to give Florida problems. Or will this finally be the game that the Gators actually look like defending SEC East Champions in.
