Kentucky blows game against the Gators

Mark Stoops is on the hot-seat right. He has to be after that kind of implosion against Florida. How do you not have 11 players on the field on that last touchdown? How do you leave a wide receiver unmanned before the snap twice?

This was supposed to be Kentucky’s year to end the streak to beat the Gators. It was their year, for most of four quarters. And then the Wildcats basically gave Florida the win in the final minutes of the game. Not just on that last play either, Kentucky let a mediocre offense that they had stopped for much of the night, just roll downfield on them.

And then Florida tried to give the game away in the last-minute only to be saved by a bad holding call on a big run by Benny Snell. That led to the field goal that was out of their kickers range.

So clearly, Kentucky is who I thought they were, a less competent Vanderbilt. Good defense, mediocre offense with a good running back. They just aren’t as well coached.
