Each week, Dawn of the Dawg will release a score prediction for the Georgia Football team’s upcoming game. Here’s how we did last week:

Prediction: Georgia 24, Mississippi State 21

Actual Result: Georgia 31, Mississippi State 3

For the first time all season, my prediction for last week’s game was not even close to the actual result. I am committed to not underestimating the Dawgs again.

Georgia heads to Knoxville this weekend to take on Tennessee in its second SEC contest of the 2017 season. Georgia is the heavy favorite in this game as the program trends upward while Tennessee appears to be trending downward.

After holding Mississippi State’s prolific offense to just 3 points last week, Georgia’s defense should have no problem containing Tennessee’s offense. Outside of its starting running back, the Tennessee does not have many legitimate playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

Tennessee’s run defense has been abysmal this year and I expect the Dawgs to take full advantage of that. Expect Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, and D’Andre Swift to get a heavy dose of carries. Jake Fromm will once again be the quarterback and I expect him to continue to show the poise and accuracy we’ve seen from him thus far.

Tennessee does have the advantage of having this game at home, however. Knoxville is always a tough place to play so it will be important for the Dawgs to jump on Tennessee early to keep the crowd under control.

I expect Georgia to take care of business against Tennessee and continue its hot start to the season. While this is the type of game in which Georgia teams of the past might stumble, I do not see that happening with this year’s team.

Next: Week 5 viewing schedule for bulldog fans.

 Prediction: Georgia 31, Tennessee 14

Georgia takes on Tennessee this Saturday in Knoxville at 3:30 p.m. (ET) on CBS.
