Georgia Football goes to Neyland Stadium to take on the Tennessee Volunteers today and the dawgs can do the Vols a big favor by beating them.

SEC East play begins today for the Dawgs in Knoxville where they will face arch-rival Tennessee (3:30 kickoff, CBS). Georgia Football is coming off of a 31-3 dismantling of the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Athens. The Vols are fresh off a lukewarm home performance,  barely beating UMass (a team they honestly should have beat by at least 3 tds) by a score of 17-13 in a game that saw many Tennessee fans leave at halftime out of either disgust or boredom. The week before, UT lost a heartbreaker on a last-second pass from the Florida Gators (sound familiar, Dawg fans?). Things are not good on Rocky Top, to say the least. And most of our hillbilly neighbors to the north who are fed up with the state of things in Knoxville are pointing fingers at one man- head coach Butch Jones.

This series has always been nasty. It’s always been memorable as well. Herschel running over Bill Bates. The Tennessee domination of the 90s. The ‘hobnail boot’. Nick Chubb’s injury the last time we went there. The last 10 seconds of last year’s contest in Athens. And the list goes on and on. We have seen decades of memorable games and a lot of really heated moments and banter between two fanbases that don’t like each other. This is a game that both teams desperately want and need to win. While it doesn’t necessarily decide the East winner every year, the winner of this game is left still fighting for the division crown while the loser is usually left simply trying to make a decent bowl game.

With the Chubb injury in 2015 and the last second miracle pass from Josh Dobbs to Juan Jennings last season, this game has taken a nasty turn as of late.

A nasty rivalry.

A certain contingent of their fans have shown their true colors by making fun of Nick Chubb’s gruesome injury on their pathetic excuse for a field. I’ve personally seen it used by their fans in smack talk on social media for the past 2 years. It hasn’t stopped, either. 2 UT fraternities were photographed just this week with signs tastelessly poking fun at the injury. While I enjoy some good, old-fashioned SEC football smack talk, some things should be off-limits. A horrible injury to a kid is definitely one of those things.

If you’ve stayed with me until now, you have probably noticed that I hold some hard feelings against the University of Tennessee, it’s football program, and its’ fans. So why did I choose a headline like “We will help you, Tennessee”?  It’s because I know of a result in tomorrow’s game that can be mutually beneficial to both teams. Georgia is a better team than Tennessee this year…..much better. The Vols’ only true strength right now seems to be their running game, but unfortunately for them, we possess one of the top run defenses in the country.

John Kelly is a very talented back who leads the SEC in rushing. But I’ll ask like I did last week about talented Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald…..is Kelly good enough to run through Lorenzo Carter, Roquon Smith and Davin Bellamy? Can he abuse what is without a doubt the stoutest defensive front 7 in the SEC East enough to pull his team to an upset win against #7 ranked Georgia? I think not.

So here’s what we are going to do for you, Volnation.

We are coming to kick the doors in on Neyland Stadium. The Dawgs are going to run on your pathetic run defense at will. Nick Chubb will have his day and his revenge. I know what you want Vols. You guys want Butch Jones gone. We can help with that.  So we will come into your house and play nasty defense. Our guys will play with intensity and aggression like you haven’t seen this year.

Your moronic trash can or any “5 Star hearts” or “champion of life” speeches can’t help you anymore.  We aren’t UMass, hillbillies. WE ARE GEORGIA. Y’all think a “Kirbstomping” from UGA will get your coach who is a carbon copy of the gym coach from Beavis and Butthead fired sooner? Ok. No problem. The Georgia Bulldogs can oblige ya.

Be ready for what is coming today, Tennessee. You have earned it and deserve it.  In the words of the late, great Wyatt Earp, “YOU CALLED DOWN THE THUNDER… WELL NOW YOU GOT IT!”
