Georgia football: Top performers from the slaughter of Tennessee
Tyrique McGhee
Malkom Parrish shuts down his receiver every week. Dominick Sanders has the deep, middle part of the field locked off. Last week Deandre Walker proved that he can be a shutdown receiver. So who can quarterbacks throw towards?
Well, the sophomore nickle back who’s in his first season as a major contributor seems like the best option. Wrong!
Tyrique McGhee is the real deal. He intercepted the game’s opening pass. It was a late throw by Dormandy on an out route, which is always a bad idea. But McGhee made the play. Tennessee picked on him several times throughout the game, well they tried to pick on him. He seemed to be doing the picking. He was a large reason why the Volunteers combined for 11-of-23 passes for only 80 yards.
