Personal prediction:

This debate is one that is raging across the Georgia fanbase right now. All of us here at DotD are trying to figure it out as well. Fromm has fully won over some of our writers already. They, like many fans, have bought in and want to keep riding the hot hand that so far has the team undefeated.

So here is where I buck the trend. While I think Jake Fromm has done a terrific job as a true freshman, I don’t think he’s been special. His receivers have saved him several times when he’s thrown some bad balls and he probably should have had 3 picks against the Vols last week. For me, his play has been fine and I think it shows that he has a bright future. I’m just not prepared to agree that his future is now.

I also think that a lot of people have forgotten how well Eason played at times last year. Yes, there were games where he was bad, but there were several where he was special. He clearly has the talent to be an elite college QB and that should not be overlooked. I wouldn’t be surprised if the past 5 weeks have lit a fire in him to prove how good he is.

Next: Dawgs still one week from Humility

If Eason is fully healthy, I actually think he will be the guy to get the start this week. That’s a decision that I would be totally on board with, especially if Kirby says he has been the best QB in practice. No matter the decision, however, it’s really important that fans get behind whoever is the starting QB. This team is too good for people to get divided over ‘their guy’ not playing.
