Georgia football: Observations of the Bulldogs opponents after week five
Kentucky struggles against Eastern Michigan
Kentucky is 4-1, but they’re one of the worst 4-1 teams out of all power-five teams. They just can’t put anyone away, and Eastern Michigan wasn’t an exception. After going up 24-14 in the fourth quarter, the Wildcats allowed another touchdown to cut the lead to 24-20 with just under three minutes remaining.
Kentucky survived again. Clearly, better teams will smack them around. But who on their schedule is really better than them besides Georgia, Mississippi State and Louisville? Despite their inability to win games comfortably, this could be a team that finishes 8-4, maybe even 9-3.
Good enough to keep Mark Stoops and really raises expectations for the Wildcats going into 2018. But back to this season. Stoops has built a good defense in Lexington and if Benny Snell Jr. gets going, Kentucky is as good as anybody.
I wouldn’t expect our game with them to be a cake walk. I do consider Kentucky to be a trap game as of right now.
