Georgia football: Top performers from the win over Vanderbilt
Georgia football once again dominated their SEC opponent. This time the Bulldogs slaughtered Vanderbilt 45-14 to improve to 6-0 and 3-0 in the conference.
Can anyone stop Georgia football right now? We knew how stout the defense was well before the season began. But now the offense, the unit with the most doubt, looks unstoppable. Add to that a special teams unit that has been nearly flawless.
Six games into the 2017 season, Georgia football is the best they’ve been since 2002. Perhaps even better than that team since the 2017 Bulldogs are averaging more points per game.
So no one was surprised Saturday when Georgia took care of business with a 45-14 win over Vanderbilt. Throughout the game, the Bulldogs surpassed 400 total rushing yards and the defense once again totally dismantled their opponent.
Despite the great team effort though, there were some players that stood out more than others. And here is where Dawn of the Dawg recognizes those players.

The running backs
We have to start with the running back quintet. A 423-yard effort is the best place to start talking about how Georgia defeated Vanderbilt so comfortably. Sony Michel led the team with 150 yards headlines by a 50-yard touchdown run in the second half. Nick Chubb added 138 yards with a pair of touchdowns.
So that means that the other three and Jake Fromm combined for 135 yards. Not bad for a quarterback and a group of backups. Elijah Holyfield led the backups with 51 yards and he scored the first touchdown of his career.
We knew going in that Vanderbilt has an atrocious run defense. But Georgia still needed to work to gain yards, nothing is given on game days. The Bulldogs did just that and finished with the second best game rushing in Georgia football history.
