Georgia Football- Bulldogs Move Into Top 4 in AP Poll
By Mike Stowe
Georgia Football has moved up into the top 4 in the AP poll that was released this week. It is the first time they have been there in the playoff era.
We keep on rolling on don’t we, Dawg fans? 6 up, 6 down. Georgia Football took care of business once again and won the Tennessee state title by dominating an SEC team from the Volunteer state for a second consecutive week. By smacking down the Vanderbilt Commodores by a final score of 45-14, they moved to 6-0 and 3-0 in the SEC on the season. They weren’t perfect by any means, but still dominated this game and covered the spread in the process.
As of now, all we are able to see is the Associated Press Poll and the Coaches’ Poll (Dawgs are 5th in that one). With Iowa State upsetting Oklahoma and UGA dominating their past 3 conference opponents, the Dawgs are now sitting at a much deserved #4 position in the AP with only Penn State, Clemson, and Alabama ahead of them in the AP Top 25.
The first official College Football Playoff poll, which is the one that counts towards actually making the playoffs, doesn’t come out until the week after we play Florida. It will be released on Tuesday, October 31st. If the Dawgs win against Missouri this Saturday and against the Gators after the bye week, they will absolutely be in the top 4 of the CFB playoff poll as well.
You can’t get too caught up in the hype. But you also must appreciate what this team has done so far. With the win yesterday and SEC East rival Florida taking their first SEC loss from LSU, we are in a great position to win the East. Only one game remains on our schedule in which we will be an underdog (at Auburn, November 11th).
