Justin Fields is staying home

The day before the game, Georgia had even more good news. Justin Fields, the nations #1 overall QB, and player committed to play in Athens. This is a pretty big deal. Fields choose to stay home and battle two 5-star QB’s over some other high end offers. Watch some of his play below, the guy is a pretty special talent:

Now I know a lot of people aren’t that interested in recruiting. That being said, his decision spoke volumes to me. This is a guy who could walk into Florida State and probably start next year. He could likely do the same at Auburn or LSU. The fact that he chooses UGA and to battle Jake Fromm and possibly Jacob Eason says a lot.

It says a lot about him as a player and his confidence, but it also says a lot about this program. To me, Fields is a legit first-round draft prospect if his college career works out. Believe it or not, he is probably more talented than both Eason and Fromm. His arm and accuracy are borderline elite and his athletism is crazy.

As good as both of our two QB’s are right now, I personally think Fields could be the one who pushes this team over the top eventually. To me, he could be our Deshaun Watson and I wouldn’t be shocked if he ended up being even better than #4 when it’s all said and done.
