South Carolina finding an offense without Samuel

I just really don’t know how to judge South Carolina. They open the year by squeaking past North Carolina State before smacking around Missouri. Then they lost to Kentucky while losing their best player, Deebo Samuel. Then they barely beat Louisiana Tech before building Texas A&M’s confidence.

But most recently, the Gamecocks blew out Arkansas 48-22. Sure, Arkansas has a terrible defense, but South Carolina still doesn’t have Samuel. All things considered, 48 points is really good for them. And the game really wasn’t that close.

Jake Bentley was fairly solid, Rico Dowdle probably deserved more carries but was exciting with his 11 carries. Nine different players caught a pass from Bentley. The defense did allow a ton of yards to Arkansas, but it wasn’t enough to hurt their lead.

But what kind of team will we see next out of Carolina? They’ve been a mixed bag so far. But they play Tennessee this week so maybe they don’t have anything to worry about.
