1. 2012 SEC Championship Game vs. Alabama

Make no mistake about it, this wasn’t just Georgia’s best game in the Georgia Dome, it was the best SEC Champion Game ever. The game was made even better by Alabama’s thrashing of Notre Dame in the National Champion Game which prompted many to see this as the real national title game.

Georgia appeared to be well on its way to victory after Todd Gurley’s 10-yard touchdown run to give the Bulldogs a 28-25 lead. Their defense shut down Alabama until A.J. McCarron’s miracle heave to Amari Cooper gave the Tide the lead again.

But Aaron Murray led Georgia on one more great drive following an overturned interception call. He marched the Bulldogs all the way down to the six-yard line where… well I’m sure you’re probably tired of reliving that last part.

Georgia fell 32-28 in a football masterpiece. Both offenses were efficient, but neither defense was dominated. Special teams played a critical role in the outcome. What more could you ask for out of a football game? Besides a win for Georgia.
