How long does Fromm hold off Justin Fields?

No matter what, I think it’s unlikely that Jacob Eason is in Athens in 2019. Either he transfers out after losing the starters job or he goes to the NFL after winning it in 2018. He’ll be gone either way. That leaves Georgia with 2 highly regarded QB’s battling it out for playing time.

Both of them are ‘Georgia Boys’ and I personally think that both will finish out their careers in Red and Black. As good as Fromm has looked this year, it is fair to wonder whether he will be able to hold off Fields for the job when Eason leaves. Fields seems to be the more talented prospect. He’s been talked about as a ‘generational prospect’ so the hype around him is pretty strong,

Don’t expect Fromm to give up without a fight, however. One thing we should have all learned about him this year is the guy is a gamer. He’s more than capable of raising his level of play when pushed by others and he could hang on for an extra year.

Now personally, I am all aboard the Fields train. We haven’t seen him play in college, but I do think he is special. If I were a gambling man, I would say that I expect Fields to win the full-time job in his sophomore year. But I wouldn’t be surprised to see Fromm change that narrative and start throughout 2019. There is just something about that guy.
