The ‘Swift Factor’:

But it’s not just Nick and Sony. This team legitimately has 5 running backs that could start at most SEC schools. D’Andre Swift is the youngest but he also might be the most explosive. He has taken over the no.3 RB slot this season and shown time and again that he’s the right person for that job.

Swift has already accounted for more than 300 yards from scrimmage so far this season. He has also scored 2 TD’s including a crucial one last week to build momentum against Vandy. There is no doubt that Swift has made an impact at UGA already and that should continue.

What makes him such a great compliment to this unit is that he truly brings something unique. His burst and explosiveness are rare and if he finds any space, he can hit holes incredibly quickly. He is the perfect change of pace back behind two guys who have varying degrees of shiftiness but are both powerful runners.

Swift has also shown a real talent for catching the ball which gives Jake Fromm a great safety blanket. That’s a role I still expect to see used more by the offense as the season goes on.
