Don’t expect Kirby to change the gameplan until he needs to:

As much as fans might want to see what Jake Fromm can do, do not expect Kirby Smart to feel the same way. Remember, Smart sees Fromm in practice every week. He sees him going up against a very good defense and so by now, he should know both what he and Jacob Eason can do when he needs them to sling it.

Kirby comes from the Nick Saban school of coaching. There are two things he is not going to do. He’s not going to change a game plan that is working until he needs to. He is also not going to reveal any more kinks to the offense for future opponents to see.

While Kirby will be doing his best to make sure the players are focused on this week, he will be thinking of the future. Georgia has by far it’s toughest games on the schedule coming up. Florida and Auburn both have legitimate defenses. He will not want to give them any film of how Jim Chaney can open up this offense and spread the ball around if he can avoid it.

Weapons like Issac Nauta and Mecole Hardman are not seeing a huge amount of targets. That’s just fine with Smart right now. He’s only focused on one thing, winning. Keeping some of those plays in his back pocket right now works just fine for him. It helps that he has one of the best running games in the country as well. So look for him to continue to lean on that at least for one more week.
