For the first time since 2005, Georgia football has a 7-0 record going into the trip to Jacksonville to play the Florida Gators.

The 2017 Georgia football season just keeps getting better. The Bulldogs bulldozed the Missouri Tigers Saturday night in a 53-28 victory. Georgia is now 7-0, a mark they haven’t reached in 12 years.

Not only that, both the Associated Press and Coaches Poll ranked Georgia no. 3 in the Nation on Sunday. The Bulldogs are a legitimate national title contender that only needs to arrive in the SEC Championship Game with no more than one-loss before beating Alabama in said championship game.

But how has Georgia come so far? In the preseason, they were split favorites for the SEC East with Florida. But all that meant was that Georgia was really a split favorite to get beaten by Alabama in December. The predictions for this season have changed drastically since then.

Stats help tell the story and some stats stand out more than others. So here are five of those stats that show how Georgia went from “maybe next year” to “this might be the year.”
