Other SEC schools:

Georgia has one of the strictest policies in the SEC when it comes to athletes and Marijuana. Only us and Kentucky who impose discipline for a first-time offence. The SEC has also seen quite a few institutions relax their drug policies over the past 10 years.

Jordan D. Hill had a great write-up about where UGA sits when it comes to the rest of the SEC back in January last year. In it, he states that while some other schools still have the ‘3-strikes and you’re out’ framework, most have relaxed that rule as well.

He points out that Ole Miss, Florida and LSU don’t consider dismissal until a 4th offence and Auburn and Alamaba require 5 failed drugs tests before they dismiss. That also requires the teams to report failed tests. It is not a NCAA requirement for teams to report these to anyone.

The mindset in most other SEC schools is very different. Tim Williams was a star player for Alabama and a 3rd round NFL draft pick. He admitted to failing multiple drug tests during his time in Tuscaloosa, none of which were reported. The fact that this was kept in house shows how different this issue is treated at a lot of other schools right now.
