1. We MUST win the SEC East this year.

If we finish this season like we should and win the East for the first time since 2012, Alabama will likely be waiting in Atlanta as the SEC West winner. But we have to get there first. This isn’t a new narrative for us. How many times have the Dawgs been the favourite in the East, only to lose games they shouldn’t, and see Florida or Missouri win the division?

I’ve lost count, to be honest. The next major step in the Kirby Smart process has to be winning the division. It’s been down the past few years, and we haven’t taken advantage. The division is more down right now than I ever remember it being. Florida looks sloppy. Tennessee is a train wreck with a head coach saying things like “The only thing that kept us from beating South Carolina was scoring touchdowns.” Butch Jones has become a walking joke of an HC with one foot out the door. South Carolina? Eh. Kentucky? They look pretty good and are in second place in the East, but I’m not buying it. They’re going to show that they’re still Kentucky soon. Mizzou? Vandy?

UGA has already curb stomped them both. Georgia is honestly the only good team in the division this year. Don’t think for one minute that it’s going to stay that way long. Tennessee and Florida will be back eventually. But right now, Georgia is superior to every team in the East. We must take advantage of that and win the division.
