Georgia Football keeps on winning despite being on a bye
Adam Anderson joins the Wolfpack
When Anderson committed to UGA earlier this week, it ended a very long recruiting story. Anderson originally committed to Georgia back in 2016, before flipping to LSU with two of his Rome teammates. He backed out of that not long afterwards and spent most of this summer visiting several schools.
Anderson’s decision to come to Athens ended that journey. By all accounts, this was a decision between UGA and Alabama so this was a big win for the Dawgs. Anytime you can take a guy that Nick Saban wants, that’s a good thing.
Anderson is exactly the kind of player Georgia wants in this class. Lorenzo Carter and Davin Bellamy have both played really well this year but both will leave after this season. Their play and leadership have helped establish the culture of UGA’s ‘Wolfpack’ and they deserve a lot of credit for that.
UGA is going to welcome several top OLB’s in this year’s class. Azeez Ojulari is a huge talent and Caleb Tannor is another local product who could make a big impact. Anderson might well be the best of the bunch, however. His frame and athletic ability are genuinely rare and it’s going to be really exciting to see him develop at UGA. There’s a great chance he will find a way to contribute as soon as next season.
