What Florida player have been saying:

On Monday, during their press conference, a couple of Gator players were made available to the media. First was wide receiver, Josh Hammonds:

The second was safety Chauncey Gardner:

There were a few other quotes but those are the two most prominent. It’s an interesting position that Florida has put themselves in. They are heavy underdogs thanks in part to their own performance this season. These sorts of statements seem to be for their own confidence more than to insult Georgia.

This is a Florida team that has real issues this year. They are missing 9 players because of a credit card fraud scandal which the University really doesn’t want to talk about. They have also been hit hard by injuries and they are missing several key starters. Hammonds himself has battled injuries and he’s been pretty ineffective this year.

I don’t know if Florida is trying to get into the Georgia players heads or not. But to me, these quotes are more the sign of a team that’s already desperate. They know that their season is essentially over if they lose on Saturday. They likely know that Georgia is a better team so they’re just doing their best to make themselves believe.
