Georgia Football is all business this week going into Florida game
Georgia isn’t biting:
What should be a good sign for Georgia fans is the way that the Dawgs have reacted to those quotes. Georgia made their players available after Florida and so Lorenzo Carter and JR Reed had the chance to shoot back some trash talk of their own. Seth Emerson from Dawgnation.com had plenty of quotes from both players.
They both passed up that opportunity. Carter pretty much summed up Georgia’s reaction to the situation perfectly when talking about whether the trash talk motivated the team:
"“Yeah, that’s what it does. That’s what bulletin-board material is. It’s just a little extra fire,” Carter said. “But we don’t need that. We have enough fire and intrinsic motivation with the team, that anything else outside is noise that we block out.”"
Put simply, this Georgia team really doesn’t care what others say about them. They aren’t going to focus on external factors. Kirby Smart has been preaching for a long time this idea of ‘chopping wood’. How each week the Dawgs have to remain consistent if they are going to win the race.
They might be playing their biggest rival this week, but the message from inside Athens is pretty clear. This is just another business week. And it’s business as usual.
