Jake Fromm bounced back from last week:

Jake Fromm didn’t have his best week against Florida. He only threw the ball 7 times but he made several mistakes. He wasn’t terrible but he looked like a true freshman and that’s ok. Georgia has the running game to still blow people out sometimes when that happens.

After another week in which an opposing player mocked Fromm, Georgia decided to air it a bit more against South Carolina. Fromm was very much up to the challenge. He completed 16 of 22 passes for 196 yards and two really good touchdowns. His throw to Mecole Hardman for his second TD, in particular, was really impressive.

Georgia struggled to run the ball to start the game and so they leaned on Fromm’s arm to get them moving. He did a good job of moving those chains and finding his weapons. Had Terry Godwin not fumbled inside the 5-yard line on Fromm’s first drive, the game could have been very different.

Fromm looked comfortable this week, he made no major errors and he just looked in control. Once again, I will stress that fans should continue to temper their excitement. He remains a work in process and the last thing he needs is to be crowned ‘the next big thing’.

However, to me, Fromm had his best game of the season this week. He was methodical and played within the offense. He took what was available and he kept the ball moving. It was a great performance and just what Georgia needed as it goes into some tougher games.
