Kearis Jackson takes his official:

Kearis Jackson has become a bit of a pied piper for this Georgia class. Justin Fields is going to get a lot of the credit for guys who come in but don’t undersell the work the Jackson has put in himself. He’s been lobbying a lot of players pretty hard. Anyone who follows him on Twitter can see him doing his best to get guys to join him in Athens.

Jackson is going to become a big brother this December. His mother is expecting a baby and so he’s unlikely to have much time after the season to come to UGA. It was therefore not particularly surprising that he used this week to take his official.

It can’t be underestimated how important guys like this are to Georgia’s recruiting push. While the coaches do their best to mingle before the game, the fact is that they still have a game to prep for. That’s why guys like Fields, Jackson and Chris Smith are so important.

Not only are these really great players, but they’re Georgia guys. They’re local players who want to build something special at their home school. Jackson and Smith bought in before this season. They were on the train before the results came in and that carries weight.

One last visit between the hedges from Jackson will likely make an impact. We’ll probably never know how much, but he’s very close to guys like Trey Hill. Hill was at Jackson’s commitment party this August. No matter what, he deserves a shoutout for being a great leader for this 2018 class and we look forward to seeing him strap on the Red and Black next time he’s between the hedges.
