Luke Ford trending Georgia’s way:

If there was one unofficial visitor that should excite Georgia fans, its Luke Ford. Ford is not exactly a local product and came down from Illinois on his own dime. The nations no.2 tight end has become very close to Justin Fields since they played together at Nike’s the Opening. They ended up on the same side and won the tournament together.

Since then, Ford has always said that Fields would make a difference for him. Right now, Georgia is not using their tight ends as much as was expected, but they have a reputation of developing those players. Issac Nauta will likely be NFL bound after next season so there is room at the position.

It looks like a two way battle for Ford between UGA and Alabama. Neither is throwing the ball around right now thanks to dominant running games and young QBs. Both, however, have young pocket passers in Jake Fromm and Tua Tagovailoa and I’d expect that to change going forward. Wherever Ford ends up, he should command touches.

247’s Crystal Ball system has a lot of predictions for Ford going to Georgia right now. I’m not entirely sure how accurate those are, but they do show momentum. Georgia has made real progress with the tight end recently and it wouldn’t be a shock to see him in Athens when this class is done.
