Georgia Football goes head to head with Auburn almost every year for plenty of players. Here are some of the biggest ones of the past few years.

They call Georgia vs Auburn ‘the South’s oldest rivalry’. There’s a good reason behind that. Auburn is in many ways a huge thorn in UGA’s side. That’s because, for years, Georgia Football has been bleeding top level local talent to the Tigers.

It’s one of the main reasons that Kirby Smart was brought in. For years, Georgia simply could not keep it’s best players out of other teams hands. No program benefitted more from this than Auburn.

Recruiting battles are in many ways as important as the ones that happen on the field. They always say that ‘Jimmy’s and Joe’s win games more than X’s and O’s’. Perhaps no rival has done more to harm Georgia in that regard than Auburn. There has always been a cloud of suspicion around the way the Auburn get certain recruits. Some could say that a lot of that comes from bitter Georgia fans who are annoyed they missed out on a player. Others would argue there sure is a lot of smoke around the way Auburn recruits.

So let’s take a quick look back at some of the recruiting battles that have changed both of these two storied programs. How has so much top talent from the peach state found it’s way Auburn Alabama, a town with almost nothing else but a University?
