Tray Bishop flips and the tide turns:

So we’re finally at a first win for the Dawgs. Believe me, this won’t be the last. Georgia had a fantastic class in 2017. It was ranked in the top 3 for a reason. The depth of talent they brought in was really impressive. Most of the class was from Georgia as Kirby Smart began to enact his policy of locking up in-state talent.

Tray Bishop was a big flip for Georgia. He was committed to Auburn for some time before changing his mind at the Army All American game. Bishop was very close to players like Richard Lecounte III and his flip was certainly in the cards.

He chose to come to Georgia and learn how to play in the defensive backfield rather than go to Auburn who had an interest in him playing QB. Bishop knew that the secondary was the best chance for him to play in the NFL. He felt that Georgia was the best place for him to develop. It’s still too early to know exactly how good Bishop will be at UGA. He is however very talented so this could end up being a great win.

This was the first flip Georgia had over Auburn for a while. UGA won several other battles against Auburn that year. Auburn was also a finalist for Monty Rice, who has made an impact in his freshman year.
