Each week, Dawn of the Dawg will release a score prediction for the Georgia Football team’s upcoming game. Here’s how we did last week:

Prediction: Georgia 38, South Carolina 13

Actual Result: Georgia 24, South Carolina 10

Georgia football remains the top team in the College Football Playoff rankings for the second straight week. This Saturday, however, will be the Dawgs’ toughest game of the entire season.

Georgia goes on the road this week to take on No. 10 Auburn on Saturday. The Dawgs sit at 9-0 and ride into this game after dominating South Carolina last week. Auburn sits at 7-2 with close losses to Clemson and LSU.

This game between the Dawgs and Tigers figures to be an extremely close one on paper. Georgia and Auburn both have offensive and defensive styles that mirror one another. Like Georgia, Auburn posts a stout defense and a potent rushing attack on offense.

Many are wondering if this is the game Jake Fromm may have to win for the Dawgs with his arm. If Auburn’s defense holds Georgia’s running game in check (which no team has done so far this year), then Fromm may have to once again prove his doubters wrong by showing he is a gifted passer.

Auburn could legitimately be 9-0 this season. The Tigers lost a close game to Clemson and inexplicably collapsed against LSU and lost in a very close game as well. Despite that, I see the Dawgs having the slight advantage over the Tigers in all three phases of the game.

Georgia is going to pound the football. Everybody knows that. But as we saw last week, Jim Chaney is not afraid to take what the defense is giving him in the passing game. If Auburn loads the box and sits back in zone coverage, then I fully expect Fromm to throw the ball quite a bit.

The key for Georgia in this game is to avoid the mental mistakes and contain the environment. Auburn is an extremely tough place to play but the Dawgs have experience this season winning in hostile environments like Notre Dame and Tennessee.

The X-Factor in this game could be Rodrigo Blankenship for the Dawgs. If this game is a defensive struggle like most predict it will be, then Blankenship may be given multiple field goal opportunities that he has to convert to give the Dawgs a chance. He’s having an outstanding season this year and I truly think he will come through for the Dawgs on Saturday when it matters.

Georgia is the better team in this match-up. And I believe the Dawgs will be the better team on Saturday. It certainly won’t be easy, but the Dawgs will win this game in a close one.

Prediction: Georgia 23, Auburn 19

Georgia takes on Auburn at 3:30 P.M. (ET) tomorrow on CBS.
