4. UGA’s running game stopped:

One of the main reasons that Fromm was under such duress was the fact that UGA’s running game was totally shut down. Both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel were held down by a defensive line that dominated in the trench.

Those two ended up with 48 yards on 20 carries, That stat pretty much says it all. Georgia didn’t have a run over 10 yards for the entire game. That pretty much sums up the problem Georgia faced all game. Their backs were simply unable to make plays.

One of the biggest reasons for that was a complete breakdown on the offensive line. That unit has been so much better this season that a performance like this simply wasn’t expected. In their defense, they were going up against the best D-line that they have faced all season and in a hostile atmosphere. But there will be no unit more disappointed in the locker room than the offensive line after the game.

Jim Chaney also had a tough day. His play calling was not as broad as it had been in previous games. Now, much of that could have been because his line was failing to block anyone. Still, overall, UGA’s running game had a really poor day.
