Plenty to still be excited about in Athens:

Ok, so this was a tough loss. After blowing out plenty of other teams, Georgia got a taste of their own medicine. Now I’m sure a lot of you have friends who are Auburn fans. At the very least, you’ll have seen plenty of Auburn fans mocking the Dawgs remorselessly on social media.

Let them. They played well and this was a game they needed to win. They still have to beat Bama to win the West and that’s going to be pretty damn tough. Besides, this is the first win they’ve had against us in 4 years, so don’t take it too seriously. It’s been a while for them.

Besides, I still firmly believe that this isn’t going to be a rivalry that goes Auburn’s way for much longer. With the way Georgia is recruiting and how well they are developing talent, I only expect them to get better.

Jeff Sentell at Dawgnation.com said the other day. That he believes that this 2017 team could well be the least talented side we see in Athens in some years. That’s not to discredit these players at all. But it is to acknowledge that this side is simply the beginning of something that’s going on in Athens. 2017 isn’t going to be the peak. It’s just the beginning.

Let Gus Malzahn make fun of the Dawgs. Let Auburn fans crow about how amazing and perfect they are. They had their best game all season and we had our worst. This loss is only going to make us and our entire program better. We’ll see you in Atlanta without that home field of yours… If you beat Bama of course…
