Georgia Football lost it’s first game of the season this past week. Now it’s going to be looking for redemption.

Well, I guess Georgia Football isn’t going undefeated this year. UGA’s loss to Auburn on Saturday was a shocker in a lot of ways. Firstly, it was a shock to see the number 1 team in the country go down. But it was also unexpected that this team which has been so consistent put together such a bad performance.

While some credit should be given to Auburn, Georgia need to face the reality that they lost this game themselves. They made uncharacteristic mistakes and plenty of them in all aspects of the game. Nobody from this team should walk into the locker room today feeling exempt. Everyone was responsible for what became a blowout.

However, all is not lost. In fact, there is still an awful lot more to play for this season. While national writers are making fun of the Dawgs and Auburn fans are crowning themselves as national champions already, there is still plenty more football to be played. Kirby Smart was absolutely right when he said that this team won’t be defined by this game. They’ll be remembered for how they respond to their first bit of adversity.

At some point in a season, someone is going to punch you in the mouth. UGA is a very good team and that hadn’t happened yet to them. But now it has and so it’s players will have one thing on their mind going into the Kentucky match. It’s time for redemption.
