Let them eat cake!

What this Georgia team and fanbase need to do this week, however, is ignore that. Don’t listen to the noise because there is going to be plenty of it this week. As some national and local commentators turn against this team, it’s even more important that the fans do not.

Yes, Georgia lost a game. Yes, they played really badly and to be honest, it was a blowout. It hurts even more that it was to a very much disliked rival, but at the end of the day, it’s just one game. It was also a game that Georgia could afford to lose and it was in a hostile environment. The SEC East is secure. They have two very winnable games coming up. UGA’s season is far from over.

Ironically, Auburn who is now the new media darling has a much more challenging road ahead. It has to overcome Alabama in 2 weeks time. Let me be clear about something, Alabama is the No.1 team in the country for a reason. They are better than Georgia and they are better than Auburn.

Gus Malzahn has only beaten Nick Saban once and that was 4 years ago. It was because of the miracle ‘Kick 6’. He’s not exactly shown that he has Saban’s number during his time at Auburn.

The Tigers should also remember that even if they win that, they have to play Georgia again and this time, they’ll be in Atlanta. There will be no home field advantage and they will be playing a very good football team that is angry and looking for revenge. They had 1 good game, but by all means, crown them if you want to. We’ll see how good they really are in December… Maybe.
