Georgia Football had a decommitment early this week from OLB Caleb Tannor. But fans shouldn’t be upset because his departure could help UGA with some of their other targets.

Well, Georgia Football has its first bit of negative recruiting news in quite some time. After being on what seems like a constant winning streak since the season started, I guess it makes sense. Georgia lost its first game of the year and so maybe it was destined to lose a recruiting battle alongside that.

Caleb Tannor is a talented OLB out of Miller Grove GA. He committed to UGA over Auburn back in July and the War Eagles are now considered to be his favored landing spot. Some Auburn fans are of course suggesting that their victory was so great that it gave them a recruiting win as well. But the truth is probably a bit more complicated.

You see, Georgia’s class has changed a lot since Tannor committed. Back then, UGA fans were still in a ‘sky is kind of falling’ mode. Tannor was a big get for the class at the time, but things have changed. UGA seems to be a serious possibility for a lot of top recruits and they are starting to run out of space in their 2018 class.

So what is likely behind Tannor’s decision to go elsewhere? And perhaps more importantly, how does this decision affect this 2018 Georgia class?
