UGA can only take 24 guys this year:

One thing we do know is how many players Georgia can take. The SEC has a 25 person a year limit per recruiting class. This year, however, Georgia will be limited to 24. That is because of the ‘Blueshirt’ they gave kicker David Marvin when he transferred for the 2017 season.

Marvin was brought in to either push Rodrigo Blankenship or take the job. Blankenship stepped up and won the job. He has become a very reliable kicker this season and been rewarded with his own scholarship. The price for that improvement is the scholarship that Georgia will have to pay in 2018.

The blue shirt rule means that UGA moved Marvin’s scholarship into the following season. They were able to do that because he was a late signee and is a graduate transfer. It was something they needed to do because they were already at their 85 scholarship limit. It was a good decision considering the results, but it will cost Georgia this upcoming class.

That’s not the end of the world. It should also mean that Georgia is able to take a full 25 players in the 2019 class. That is a very talented class and UGA will want to load up on that.
