Georgia Football loses a commitment, but plenty more are coming
There could be more shuffling:
If there is one thing we know, it’s that Kirby Smart can recruit. Anyone who doubted that back in April should probably rest assured that 2017 was not a one-off. UGA is going to be a recruiting power for years to come.
But now they need to get creative and likely make some tough decisions. Tannor was a player that Kirby and his coaches would have loved to have. However, the balance of the roster and they type of team they are trying to build eventually wins over. I’m not saying that Smart pushed Tannor out, but I would be very surprised if they hadn’t been involved in the decision and it wasn’t in some way mutual.
If UGA is pursuing others, Smart did the right thing by giving Tannor a chance to move on. He has plenty of time to find the right fit for him. Will he be the last one to decommit before signing day? I don’t know. There are several prospects right now who might seem a little vulnerable to bigger names.

The two names people mention is Jaevon Becton and Richard Wildgoose. Both are out of state and 3-star prospects. But fans shouldn’t just expect that to happen. Rankings don’t matter to coaches as much as getting the players they want. One thing is for sure, Kirby Smart is going to sign the 24 players he wants the most. And they’re probably going to be really, really good.
