1. Let’s stop making excuses.

I know that loss was tough to stomach and even tougher to understand due to the way this UGA has performed before Auburn, but it is what it is. I’ve heard every excuse under the sun this week. Let me go through a few of them.  We didn’t lose because of the refs. We didn’t lose because being ranked #1 carries some sort of curse.

And finally, and I can’t believe I’m actually having to say this, Kirby didn’t throw the game. I actually saw someone say this. This was their theory of why we lost. They couldn’t accept defeat, so they used this tinfoil hat theory instead. Let’s not be that kind of fan base, Dawgs.  Let’s be proud and respectful in victory and humble and sensible in defeat.

We didn’t lose for some mystical reason. We lost because we played badly and Auburn played well. That doesn’t mean that Auburn is the best team in the league. Contrary to what so many sports pundits might say, it doesn’t mean that our season is over either.

What it does mean is what our team and our fanbase need to own this loss. You have to take the good with the bad in sports. You cannot continue to be a fan of any team and throw in the towel when you lose. It’s time to suck it up and move on. Speaking of which.
