Each week, Dawn of the Dawg will release a score prediction for the Georgia Football team’s upcoming game. Here’s how we did last week:

Prediction: Georgia 23, Auburn 19

Actual Result: Auburn 40, Georgia 17

Add me to the list of people who never saw what Auburn did to Georgia football on Saturday coming. Everything that could have gone wrong for Dawgs did so in Jordan-Hare stadium. But instead of assigning blame, it’s better to just admit that Auburn was the better team last Saturday and move on.

As Kirby Smart always says: keep chopping. While Georgia’s dream of an undefeated season is no longer a reality, this team still controls its own destiny on the path to the playoffs. If the Dawgs win their last two regular season games and the SEC Championship game, then Georgia will be College Football Playoff bound.

That journey to the playoff begins Saturday in Athens against a Kentucky team that is having its best season in many years. The Wildcats sit at 7-3 and are on the verge of having the program’s first 8-win season in decades. Georgia is heavily favored in this game against Kentucky but the Wildcats should not be overlooked.

Kentucky has a formidable rushing attack on offense as well as a solid run defense. After Auburn successfully ran on Georgia’s defense, it will be interesting to see how the Dawgs responds in this game.

Let’s be clear, Georgia is clearly the better team by leaps and bounds in this match-up. The key is that the Dawgs prove they haven’t lost focus or discipline after the Auburn loss last week. With Saturday being senior day in Athens, I expect the veterans on this Georgia team to put the Dawgs back on the path they were on for the first nine games of the season.

Next: Dealing with last weeks loss

Georgia needs to make a statement in this game and put Kentucky away early. Struggling against the Wildcats will only fuel further speculation that Georgia is a pretender and not a contender. I fully expect the Dawgs to dominate Kentucky on Saturday, sending the team’s seniors out with a win in their final game in Sanford Stadium.

Prediction: Georgia 35, Kentucky 14

Georgia takes on Kentucky tomorrow at 3:30 P.M. (ET) on CBS.
