Georgia Football top five highlights from Senior day
Vintage Nick Chubb leaves Sanford in style:
Where to start with Nick Chubb. Once again, he lit up the hedges. He rushed for 151 yards, 2TDs and all in 15 carries. This was his 5th 100-yard game of the season and statistically his best so far. His first TD was classic Chubb, his protection broke down and he avoided pressure and turned what should have been a loss into an eight-yard score.
The second was like watching the Chubb of old. He bounced out to the outside and scorched the Kentucky defense for a 55-yard score. In doing so, he sealed the victory and put the result away. It was vintage Chubb, watching him streak down the sideline, just like his very first TD against Clemson back in 2014.
There is almost no player that I cheer for louder on this roster than Chubb. The guy has been such a fixture for this team over the past 4 years. The way that he has rebounded from a truly horrific injury has been amazing. He has done so much for this program and his decision to return and set a new standard for this team will reverberate for some time at UGA.
It’s going to be difficult to imagine the team going into next year without number 27. That number is something that will mean a lot to Georgia fans for a while. It’s not 34, but right now, it’s pretty damn close for me right now. Chubb left an impact in Athens that we will all remember. Let’s hope he’s got a few more big games left in him this year. Nobody deserves a shot at the playoff more than this guy.
