Georgia Football top five highlights from Senior day
Sony Michel deserves his own mention:
Nick Chubb and Sony Michel will be tied at the hip in the Georgia history books. They came in together, won together, lost together and stayed for one final year together. But I don’t want to talk just about them as a pair. This week, both of them deserve their own separate recognition.
Michel didn’t quite have the statistical career of Chubb, but he has been another stellar performer. On 12 carries today, he had 87 yards and 3 TDs. What touchdowns they were as well. His first was one of those runs we will remember Michel for. On a late draw play, he waited, found a hole and exploded through. Once he was through the gap, he was gone, there was no way any Kentucky player was going to stop him getting to that pylon.
The other two were simple TD runs, but again, they were great. Michel has done a great job converting in short yardage when UGA has run the ‘wildawg’. He did so again today.
Michel might end up being a better NFL back than Chubb. He has a fantastically well-rounded game and is a real force in the passing game. He has certainly shown that he has never been a number 2 option at Georgia. Michel has done enough to sit right up there with some of the top backs of all time at UGA.
