Jake Fromm and Javon Wims

What a potent combination. Jake Fromm and Javon Wims aren’t just on the same page, their in the same sentence. That’s how strong their connection is. Fromm knows that anything around Wims is in his range, even a yard or two out-of-bounds.

Fromm completed 12 passes Saturday, five were caught by Wims for over 70 yards and what should have been two touchdowns. Of course one was controversially called down inside the one as the officials didn’t believe he waved the ball over the goal line. Whatever.

His next catch saw him beat one of Tech’s better defenders to the end zone for an easy score. he didn’t even need to stretch for that one.

Georgia is going to need Fromm this Saturday against Auburn’s defense. And Fromm will need Wims. That’s why the Bulldog nation is so fortunate to have a quarterback and receiver combo so in sync.

Sony Michel and the running backs

Nick Chubb said he came back to beat Tech, but it was Sony Michel who racked up the yards. Michel surpassed 80 yards to move into third place in Georgia football history for career rushing yards with 3,289. He now has 903 yards on the season.

Chubb , Swift, Herrien and Holyfield were all potent though, leading Georgia to over 240 rushing yards. Because of Georgia Tech’s triple-option attack, it’s always fun to beat them and run for more yards. That is why Georgia fans say “We run this state.”
