So now comes the inevitable question. How can we win?

Fans that are like me who are realists and are students of the Larry Munson School of Pessimism are asking themselves that question after the drilling we took from Auburn and then seeing them beat Alabama this past Saturday (that was 2 victories in a row over the team that was ranked #1 in the country, for those taking score).

I’ve seen this game broken down by fans and media more than any UGA game in recent memory. The play calling of Jim Chaney has been a topic of discussion. Using the tight ends more in the passing game has come up. I’ve seen people discussing using different defensive strategies to slow down Auburn’s offence,  which is currently rolling both on the ground and through the air. The status of their star running back Kerryon Johnson, who has a shoulder injury, is still up in the air and has been a hot topic this week.

Regardless of whether he plays or not, they have other talented backs that can do damage. And their quarterback Jarrett Stidham is playing as well as anyone in the country right now. I’ve seen some Dawg fans talk about getting a pass rush that will disrupt him, which would definitely help slow them down. But will any of that win the game for us? I honestly don’t think so. I think Auburn is rolling downhill right now and they are going to be nearly impossible to shut down. That’s the bad news. Ready for some good news, Dawg fans?
