Georgia Football takes on the Auburn Tigers tomorrow in the SEC Championship game. Here’s a quick breakdown of what to look out for!

This is the biggest game Georgia will play in since the 2012 SEC Championship, which I refuse to talk about. The #2 Auburn Tigers and The #6 Georgia Bulldogs will face off in Atlanta for a spot in the College Football Playoff. These two faced off on November 11th in Auburn where the Tigers beat UGA 40-17. Georgia made some uncharacteristic mistakes that could have easily impacted that game differently. Auburn is a slight favourite to win the SEC. Let’s dive into this breakdown.

What Auburn Must Do To Win.

Auburn would like a carbon copy of the game a few weeks ago. They played near perfect. They made hardly any mistakes and controlled the line of scrimmage. For them to win, it’s practically the same formula. Feed Kerryon Johnson if he’s available. He looked like the best back in America. He is very Le’Veon Bell like to me. He’s patient, hits the hole well, and rarely gets tackled for a loss.

Also, if the front 4 causes havoc the way they have most of the season, they will be successful. Auburn rarely has to blitz due to that stout defensive line. If they can hit Georgia in the backfield the way they did last time, they will likely win the game.

What Georgia Must Do To Win.

Alistair went into plenty of details regarding what UGA needs to do in this game. His article about the offence can be found here and the defence here. However, I do have a few little thoughts of my own!

The most important thing for me is that Georgia has to run the ball better. They ran for a season-low against Auburn in the first meeting. I feel as Nick Chubb and Sony Michel will be a little more determined to have huge games. Also, the offensive line will be more prepared for the beasts that they will face Saturday. If UGA can flip the script, and control the line of scrimmage, it will be a different outcome.

X-Factors

I think an X-Factor in this game will be the Auburn Secondary. They were probably the weakest link in the first matchup. Georgia had wide open receivers everywhere but couldn’t get the ball to them because of the defensive line. The Auburn Secondary could be a liability and is definitely something to watch. They also committed a lot of holding penalties that were not called. Hopefully, officials will be watching for those more this weekend.

For Georgia, I’m putting the entire defence on this list. Although the defence was put in bad situations the first time these two met, 40 doesn’t look good at all. Guys like Lorenzo Carter and Roquan Smith should be hungry for revenge. Expect to see the golden spiked savage pads at least once Saturday.

Who Wins?

Next: Is Gus gone is UGA win?

This game is not at Jordan-Hare and Auburn could have taken down the Cleveland Browns that day. (No I don’t believe that honestly.) This game will be in Atlanta where Georgia fans have been buying tickets for weeks. I think Georgia will irk out a win and earn a spot in a National Semi-final. Georgia 21-Auburn 20.
