Georgia Football won their first SEC Championship in 12 years yesterday. Here are our top takeaways from yesterdays big victory.

Well Dawg fans, what a night that was! The Georgia Football team went out there and won the SEC Championship in Kirby Smart’s 2nd years as head coach. They did so with a 28-7 victory over the Auburn Tigers. In doing so, the Dawgs avenged their only loss of the season and booked a place in the college football playoffs.

The Bulldogs played quite possibly their best game of the season exactly when they needed to. Auburn came into the game as favourites after their victory 3 weeks ago. They scored on their first possession but were stuffed by an aggressive UGA defense the rest of the night. On the other side of the ball, UGA took a while to get going but when they did, they carved up Auburn in the 4th quarter.

While the referees did their best to keep Auburn in the game (and you’d better believe I’ll be writing about some of their shocking calls later this week), it wasn’t enough. Georgia put their foot on the gas and they never took it off.

There was plenty to takeaways from a game like there, but there are a few that stand out more than others. So let’s take a quick look at who impressed us the most yesterday.
