Roquan Smith is the best defensive player in football. Period.

When I realized that they were going to name an MVP for the game, I wondered if anyone other than Roquan stood a chance? Jake Fromm is a QB and didn’t make any mistakes. Bellamy had that fumble. D’Andre Swift’s TD stole the show.

But when it comes down to it, nobody on this team is better than Smith. Roquan put up video game statistics as he almost always does and he showed the football world just how good he was. He recovered two fumbles, made 11 tackles and had a drive ending sack that stopped Auburn scoring just before halftime. Simply put, the guy dominated.

UGA fans know how special Smith is. We watch him every week, but finally, the nation got to see him. I don’t care who else is playing out there, there is no defensive player right now who is better than Smith. The guy is by far the best player and leader on one of the nations best defenses. If he’s not a top 15 NFL draft pick, then I’m going to assume that the NFL doesn’t like good players.

He’s a junior, but let’s be real, Roquan is going pro. He should do, he might be the best defensive player I have ever seen for the Bulldogs. I don’t know how he can possibly get any better. Smith has been one of the main reasons that this team is going to the CFP. Give that man the Butkus award and be done with it. There isn’t a better player out there right now.
