Georgia Football gears up for a wild early signing day
Securing those current commits:
Right now, Georgia has 18 commitments for the 2018 class. Now, of course, nobody is actually committed until they sign that paperwork, but that is where we are right now. Here is a list of UGA’s current commits ranked based on their 247 composite rankings:
- QB Justin Fields
- RB Zamir White *
- OLB Adam Anderson
- RB James Cook *
- WR Kearis Jackson *
- OLB Azeez Ojulari *
- WR Elijah Moore
- OG/C Warren Ericson *
- CB Chris Smith *
- DT Devonte Wyatt *
- TE John Fitzpatrick *
- DT Jordan Davis
- S/DB Aaron Brule *
- DT Tramel Walthour
- OT Owen Condon *
- DB Rachad Wildgoose Jr
- Jaevon Becton
- P/K Jake Camarda *
Dawgnation.com’s Jeff Sentell is one of the most plugged-in recruiting guys out there. He had an article out last week regarding the signing period. Sentell reached out to a lot of the commits and asked about how they planned to approach the signing period. I highly recommend heading over and giving it a read if you have 5 minutes.
Quite a lot of the prospects who Sentell spoke to indicated that they were going to sign in December. All of the prospects listed with a * next to their name indicated to Sentell that they would sign early. That’s 11 commits right now who plan on signing in December.
Justin Fields, UGA’s top-ranked prospect could well join them. Fields has a tough decision to make because he is more than capable of enrolling early thanks to his grades. However, he is a promising baseball player and has to decide if he wants to play one final season in high school. That decision will likely effect when he signs.
No matter what, UGA will likely have most of its current commits sign in this period. They also won’t be the only player who signs this year.
