Georgia Football 2018 recruiting class starting to shape out
Could Aaron Brule be the next to go?
Just like Becton, Aaron Brule was kind of a surprise commit to UGA. His decision came just after Georgia’s win over Mississippi State and he certainly seemed swept up in the euphoria of UGA’s great season.
Brule is a hard-hitting defensive back who could end up playing plenty of positions at Georgia. He has tweener written all over him and you can understand why the staff wanted him. Versatility is a big thing for Kirby and his staff.
Straight after UGA’s win in the SEC Championship game, Brule tweeted that he would move his signing forward to December. Yesterday, he tweeted again saying that he had some stuff to think about and was moving it back to February.
Reading between the lines, it’s likely that the Georgia staff told him that he was not a take in December. That while they like him a lot, they still have some players higher on their board and therefore, they do not have room for him in the early signing period. That’s tough for a kid like Brule to hear, he’s a really good player and I’m sure he wants to go to a school where he’s going to be valued.
Brule hasn’t decommitted yet, but this one feels like a matter of time. I don’t think Brule will rule out UGA like Becton has, but I do think that he should look at other schools and see what’s out there. I never fault kids trying to do what is best for them. They get one shot to pick their school, they have got to make the best decision for themselves.
