Georgia Football 2018 recruiting class starting to shape out
The 2018 class could be better than last year:
After last years signing day, I think I wrote a big article about just how special the 2017 class was. Finishing at number 3 in the nation, it was statistically, the best class UGA have signed in the modern recruiting era. I feel pretty good about how that class has looked since they got to Athens.
Fast forward a year and I actually think that this year, Georgia could end up beating that class. Just 6 months ago, people thought that 2018 was going to be a down year in Georgia recruiting. Many felt that UGA was going to slump after 2017 and then do well again in 2019. Yeah, you can forget that slump bit. Kirby Smart doesn’t slump when recruiting.
Right now, UGA is sitting 4th in the rankings, but a top 2 finish is in play. Guys like Jamaree Salyer and Brenton Cox are trending towards UGA. That’s two 5-star guys, which would give Georgia 5 of those elite talents in this year’s class. Other top players like KJ Henry and Cade Mays are also in play. Clemson is favorite for both of those guys, but don’t be shocked if UGA finds a way to win one of those battles.
When it’s all said and done, 2018 could end up being even better than 2017. In terms of top end talent, this class could be something truly unique. Guys like Fields, Zamir White, and Adam Anderson could all be superstars in college. There’s going to be plenty of depth too as Georgia continues to build a strong roster. I’m already getting pumped just thinking about the 2018 season… And we still have the PLAYOFF!!!
