5.30pm
Well it looks like Georgia is done for the day. But what a day it has been for UGA fans. The Dawgs have signed 16 players today as well as enrolled a JUCO DT in Devonte Wyatt.
6 of those players are in the top 22 in the entire nation and are all 5-stars. This class could well go down as the best in Georgia history. That comes on the back of a historic 2017.
Keep an eye on DotD for the next few days, we’ll have lots of analysis to come. But for right now, Go Dawgs!
4.32pm
Ah rats, looks like UGA won’t be getting KJ Henry. The Caolina product will be going to Clmenson. That’s not entirely surprising to be honest. Theyw ere always the team to beat. That gives the Tigers 5-star talents of their own. Not as good as Georgia at 6 but it’s the second most in the class.
Probably didn’t hurt that Dabo threw some of his fellow coaches under the bus with some prospects. Lovely guy though right?
4.19pm:
Brenton Cox makes it official. His paperwork is in Athens and he’s signed up. He’ll be enrolling early in just a few weeks. Can’t wait to see what UGA’s coaches do this this guy!
4.05pm:
JUCO defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt has signed with UGA. Wyatt was a part of the 2017 class but had some issues with his grades and was unable to head to Athens this summer. He has worked hard at JUCO college to be a part of this 2018 class and has stuck true to his UGA commitment.
It’s a great story of a program sticking by a kick through some difficulties. Looking forward to seeing Wyatt between the hedges!
3.55pm:
Those of you who listen to dawgnation daily will remember that their recruiting expert Jeff Sentell promised dawg fans ‘a big surprise’ on signing day. Has that happened yet? Was that Cade Mays? Brenton Cox or Jamaree Salyer maybe?
I don’t think so. Cox and Salyer were expected to stay home and Mays was 50/50. I think that means that there could be another signing out there today. Could that mean KJ Henry is actually in play for the Dawgs? We’ll know in the few minutes.
3.45pm:
Am I the only one who has noticed that several players have been signing with ‘the visor’? It looks like Kirby might be starting a bit of a trend here…
Ok so it’s probably more that they didn’t want to mess up their hair, but a guy can dream right? Lets make Visors the official headwear of signing day again!
3.38pm:
BOOOOOM and down goes another one! UGA gets the commitment from in-state DE Brenton Cox. Cox committed to Ohio State back in the spring but changed his mind as the season went on. He’s kind of a hybrid and could play on the DL like Jonathan Ledbetter or OLB, but wherever he plays, he’s going to be a terror.
This class guys… WOW
3.35pm
I’m going to guess that the nations best QB in 2020 likes what he’s seeing on the offensive line:
Bailey is a star at Marietta high school and has been a big focus already for Kirby Smart and his coaching staff.
3.30pm
It’s Brenton Cox time… Come on big man, join the Dawgs! Lets make this 6 5-stars in one class…
3.10pm:
It’s official, Cade Mays paperwork is in. Say hello to your future UGA offensive line people:
2.50pm
Somebody give Sam Pittman a big huge for us. UGA has landed Cade Mays, the 5-star offensive tackle from Tennessee. The Great Wall of Georgia is finished. Good lord what a difference Pittman has made to Georgia’s lineman recruiting…

Welcome to Athens Cade. You’re going to be a part of something pretty special…
2.20pm
Adam Anderson’s paperwork is in. The 5-star OLB is the latest guy to be confirmed by Athens. Things are going to pick up in about 15 minutes when Cade Mays is expected to make his announcement.
1.00pm
Bulldog fans have had plenty of reasons to celebrate so far this Wednesday. Georgia have signed three of the top 10 players in the country. Justin Fields is either the number first or second bets player in the nation. Zamir White is the nations top running back and Jamaree Salyer is the country’s top offensive lineman.
But the Dawgs aren’t resting on their laurels. There should be plenty more excitement happening this afternoon so stay tuned!
1.00pm
Adam Anderson has officially signed. Anderson is the nations number 1 overall OLB. He’s going to be a real beast coming off the edge that’s for sure. He’s the 4th 5-star to ink with UGA. Their best ever haul of top level prospects and the Dawgs aren’t done yet…
12.30pm:
The paperwork is in and Justin Fields is coming to Athens. The wait is over Dawg fans! Can’t wait to see him take on Emory Jones at Florida in a few years, those should be some exciting games!
12.20pm:
Justin Fields is officially a Dawg. Once in a generation player is going to be staying home and playing for UGA.
12.10pm:
Gators flip Emory Jones. That’s a really big win for Dan Mullen and Florida in general. Jones is a really good talent, although he’s not a particularly developed passer. He could be really dangerous as the new Nick Fitzgerald however.
Also, Divaad Wilson’s paperwork has arrived, he’s officially a Dawg.
12.01pm
Justin Fields should be sighing shortly. In the mean time, Chris Smith and Azeez Ojulari are officially in the books:
11.42am:
Chris Smith signs early as well. The CB has a very bright future and led his high school team to a state championship this year.
11.40am:
Georgia QB Emory Jones is about to announce his decision. He’s choosing between FSU, Ohio State and the Gators. He’s a talented player who could thrive in Dan Mullen’s system.
Also, it’s official, welcome to the Dawgs Zamir!
11.30am
The man they called Zeus has just filled out his forms. They should be in Athens soon as UGA secures its second big time RB of the day.
11.25am
Not recruiting related, but more good news for UGA. Freshman Latavious Brini has had the charges of felony forgery dropped. Looks like he really was a kid just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
11.23am
Jamaree Salyer’s paperwork is officially in. He’s a Georgia Bulldog. God that sounds good to type!
On a side note, Clemson just received a surprise commitment from Jackson Carmen, the nations number 1 overall left tackle. That’s a shock, many thought he would go to Ohio State. The question is, could that decision effect Cade Mays at all?
Maybe Clemson fans will at least now stop accusing UGA of cheating. They have signed 3 of the nations top 10 players so they should probably stop complaining…
11.08am:
That awkward moment where you get called to do something for work, just as the commitments start dropping!
Anyway, Good news for Dawg fans as they hold onto James Cook, the nations number 3 running back. There were some rumors going around this morning that he was going to flip to FSU but that never happened. He’s on the smaller side, but good lord is he quick. Can’t wait to see him rush behind Hill, Salyer and Ericson…
10.34am:
UGA gets a commitment from Divaad Wilson, a former Florida commit. He’s a defensive back who profiles well in Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker system. Should go along really well with Chris Smith.
Also, Trey Hill’s paperwork has arrived in Athens, he’s officially a Dawg!
10.14am:
Kearis Jackson, the receiver and one of the top recruiters in this class has sent his paperwork in. He is officially a Georgia Bulldog. Appropriate to see this happen just after Salyer signed. Jackson was one of the biggest pied pipers of this 2018 class with Justin Fields. He’s going to be a heck of a player and will enroll early.
10.11am
Remeber when Florida fans thought that Fields was going to flip to the Gators last week? Me neither…
10.08am:
Here is the moment where Jamaree Salyer picked the Dawgs.
Welcome to the family big man! Salyer is the 4th 5-star prospect to commit to UGA in this 2018 class.
10.05am:
BOOOOOMMMMM The Dawgs land the nations number 1 overall offensive lineman in Jamree Salyer! Huge get for Kirby Smart and Sam Pittman.
10.00am
As expected, Parsons stays home with Penn State. Good for them keeping one of the top talents Pennslyvannia has produced in ages home.
Now pay attention Dawg fans, Jamaree Salyer is on the stage at the Battery… He’ll be signing momentarily…
9.52am:
Before we hear from Parsons, we’ve got another Commit who has filed his paperwork. JOhn Fitzpatrick is a huge tight end from in state. Standing 6-6, he’s a huge target for any QB. He’s very raw, but could really develop in the future.
9.42am:
First big announcement of the day coming up. It’s the nations top defensive end Micah Parsons. He’s a heavy Penn State lean but UGA got the final visit with him this weekend. It’s a long shot, but there’s a chance…
9.25am:
After that early flurry, things really are quiet. But that’s going to change quickly. There is going to be a lot of talent signing in the next hour or so. In the meantime, I thought I’d share this picture of Trey Hill as he gets ready to sign. Big Dawg looks good in a red velvet jacket…
8.45am:
Bit of a lull here as we build towards 9.am. Should be several signings coming in around then before the madness really starts around 10am…
8.15am:
The third guy drops. Owen Condon is a huge offensive tackle out of Oklahoma. His mother is a UGA grad and he’s been a priority for Sam Pittman for a long time. Don’t let his ranking fool you, you can’t teach 6-7 300lbs.
Condon injured his knee midway through his senior season. He will likely redshirt and could be a player that develops into a full-time starter on the edge when Andrew Thomas leaves.
8.05am:
The first (and possibly only) bit of bad news for Dawg fans as wide receiver Elijah Moore has flipped from his commitment to Ole Miss. This isn’t much of a surprise because, since his commitment, UGA has loaded up on similar receivers.
Moore is a likely slot guy, very similar to Kearis Jackson and Dominick Blaylock from the 2019 class. He was close to picking Ole Miss when he committed to UGA so it’s no surprise to see him change his mind.
8.00am:
On a non-prospect basis, can we just give it up to the UGA design team? These signing day graphics are EPIC!!
7.56am:
And in comes the second letter, this time its from kicking specialist Jake Camarda. He’s the lowest ranked recruit in the class but that’s purely because of position. Camarda is ranked as a top 5 kicking and punting prospect so it will be fascinating to see how his career plays out between the hedges. Georgia will have an opening at punter in 2018 so expect Camarda to battle for that position.
7.50am:
The first letters is in and it’s no surprise. Warren Ericson is a big man who has gone through his process very quietly. He committed to UGA via a simple tweet and never really spoke about it. One of the top centers in the nation, he was the first guy this morning to file his paperwork. Welcome to Dawgnation big man!
7.45am:
Good morning Dawg fans, I hope you’re ready for the big day, I know I am! For those of you who didn’t get a chance, check out our ‘fans guide’ that we put out yesterday. It’s got all of the information that you need for today including a little timetable of who is signing when today.
Alrighty then… Let the madness begin…
